The model of a vehicle is NOT the year. The model of the vehicle is displayed on the Manufacturers Identification Plate,or in the Vehicle Identification Number (Chassis Number).

Manufacturers Identification Plate. Do Not Quote the year on the Registration Label, as some vehicles are registered the following year.
It is always handy to have with you the type of engine that is in your vehicle. This is usually called the Engine Prefix and is usually found preceding the engine number or cast in the side of the block.
